A free, community-powered library of practical tutorials — built for makers at every level.
DIYProjects.info started as a small personal blog in 2011 where our founder, a furniture maker from the Pacific Northwest, shared weekend project plans with friends. Within two years, the site had grown into a community of tens of thousands of home improvement enthusiasts, woodworkers and craft lovers from across the world.
Today we publish over 850 free, fully tested tutorials covering everything from quick upcycling crafts to complete room renovations. Every guide is written by someone who has actually built the project — we don't publish theory, we publish experience.
Our editorial team includes professional carpenters, interior designers and seasoned hobbyists who review each submission for accuracy, safety and clarity before it goes live. We believe that anyone — with the right guidance — can build something they're proud of.
We are supported entirely by reader engagement and occasional tasteful advertising. There is nothing for sale on this platform: every tutorial, plan and guide is free to access, forever.
Every project on this site has been physically built by our team or verified contributors. We fix the problems so you don't have to discover them mid-build.
We rate projects realistically. If something needs intermediate skills, we say so — and we provide beginner-friendly alternatives wherever possible.
Every guide includes a realistic materials cost. No vague ranges — we list what we actually spent, with links to budget alternatives.
