About what ?
I haven't heard of Xicon but Nichicon certainly have a good rep as a
quality
supplier.
How about the ELNA ROA series or RVO or RFS. The marketing bull is quite
astonishing.
With the ROAs I think they're trying to say it's less microphonic than
other
caps. Only really an issue in high gain stages though.

This relates to the upgrade I want to perform to three Midiman DMP-3 |
preamps. Pursuant to your suggestion, I want to increase the phantom
blockers to 47uf. This became possible when I solved the problem of how to
mount the protective zeners to protect against hot-plugging. Of course, I
will also include my own notion of bypassing the electros with polys.
The total cost of the twelve caps is on a par with the shipping, so I'll
look at the Elnas. The problem is to find a stocking distributor.
