A Yellow Corno De Toro.

Penelope, who's never had an orange bell pepper that had much
flavor.

I had an old experienced commercial gardener tell me that lemons were
ripe whenever you choose to pick them. They never truely ripen. A
lemon is sour. It is sour when it is yellow and it is sour when it is
green. One of the other posters indicated that the Meyer lemon does
sweeten a bit, but they never get really sweet. You can wait too long
until the lemon starts to dry out on the inside.

They are ripe when they look like the ones in the supermarket. :-)

What evidence do you have that the white things on the wall have

OK, that's pretty good evidence.
They aren't mealy bugs, are they? They don't look like it from the
photo. Mealy bugs would move around. The ones on the wall would have to
move to go find a plant to feed on.
From your pictures they look attached to the wall and they look oval in
shape. Right? If you squash one, is there liquid inside like a living
thing? Can we rule out it being some sort of fungus growth?
Your original idea of egg cases may be right. I'm just trying to rule
out other things because if they ARE egg cases, I still don't have any
idea what they are. Also, egg cases shouldn't harm a plant (though the
insect that left the egg cases might have).

Wish I could help, but that one's a mystery!

Are you being funny or did you really see a picture? All I see is the

attached, my news server left it out (as it should on this group).

I just tried to resend the picture. It was rejected this time. I must be doing
something wrong. Sorry for your troubles. I do not send things to be cute. But
I'm sure thats how it must have looked. I sent the picture to others and
apparently its a horny toad. I have never seen one before and this thing has a
small tail . Kinda looks like a broad bodied lizard. Weird looking , to me.

Many thanks in advance.

I like 'Ariane' for a dead-ripe orange pepper. 'Blushing Beauty' goes through an

orange phase before going more a hot scarlet-red when dead ripe. 'Roumanian
Rainbow' also has an orange phase before going scarlet. (These are all available
from Tomato Growers Supply Co.)

I had terrible results this year with peppers due to pepper maggots. (Neem
DOES NOT control them.)

never post binaries to a non-binary group, unless you don't mind

dozens of people calling you a boob. Post it in a binary group, or web
page, then come here and tell us where it is.
And yes, it sounds like a horned toad. Haven't seen one of those guys
in a loooong time.

Thanks for your input, Pat! Every year, I have a problem (to greater or
lesser degree), with blossom-end rot on my peppers. Do you have the same
problem?

There are quite a number of orange when ripe bells. Valencia is probably the

best known, it runs about 4 1/2 X 4 1/2 inches. Since I use bells mostly at the
green stage, I am no expert on ripe bells.

You might look at Daves Garden in the peppers section of the plants database.
http://davesgarden.com/
or the Capsicum Variety Database

It never crossed my mind that you were trying to be cute. I assumed you
did attach a picture. Since this group isn't for pictures, you shouldn't
do that.

Oh, I could have made an ID on that even though I haven't seen one in
over 40 years. When I was a little kid (I remember having my 5th
birthday there) I lived in Texas for over a year while my dad completed
pilot training for the air force. I still remember catching those things
with the other kids in the neighborhood. They are unique little lizards.
We called them horny toads too, but the books call them horned toads.
