I posted a while ago asking for suggestions on succesfull boxjoint jigs.
Since there are a million plans, I was looking for a common one that people
have had good luck with. Shopnotes 62 seemed to have a good one but I
didn't build it because to get the mag, I had to buy the complete year. As
an alternative, I built Lynn's jig. Must admit that it took some getting
used to and you have to account for blade kerf variation but now that I have
a day's worth of scrap in the bin, I've got it down - for me, it works well
and is completely versatile but does require allot of the concentration for
the counting. I've alredy done a small box with 1/4" out of 1/2" for my
daughter and a larger one for myself to store "stuff" that had 1/2". Just a
matter of counting. Wondering if anyone else has made one and what their
impression was.

I built one several years ago and I like it a lot. Some observations:
- Make sure to leave enough rod extending on one end of the jig to be able
to get a drill chuck on it for fast rewind.
- Use a regular 1/8" kerf blade as the thin 3/32" kerf varieties make for
too much synaptic activity in the counting propcess.
- Make sure there is no side to side "slop" in the movable part of the jig.
